Bird in Hand Cabernet Sauvignon 2005
Wines To Try - "Many will tell you it's a waste of time planting cabernet in the Hills. In many cases they're right, but this isn't one of them. A dark core of fruit with fine edges, fully ripe tannins and a finely textured finish."
The Daily Examiner, North Coast QLD Weekend 25/26 November 2006
Nest Egg Cabernet Sauvignon 2004
"Soared like an eagle" - 9/10
The Age, Sunday 12 November 2006
Nest Egg Cabernet Sauvignon 2004
4 stars. The distinctive nose of blackcurrants, briar, lemon thyme and cedar adds up to a great varietal purity in this aromatic Adelaide Hills Cabernet. The elegant, middleweight palate has great clarity and intensity of flavour. Drink now to 2011.
The Advertiser, Wednesday 9 August 2006 - Food & Wine
Bird in Hand Sauvignon Blanc 2006
No question of varietal strengths, but look for more, like guavas and even a slice of key lime pie, citrussy and creamy. Take note too of an interesting spice lift on the palate. Fascinating.
Gourmet Traveller WINE - Big Red Issue June/July 2006
Two in the Bush Shiraz 2005
The Nugent family's estate-grown wines are recognised as being amongst South Australia's finest. Their Two in the Bush Shiraz from the Adelaide Hills exhibits rich red fruit flavours of warm rasberry and mulberry and a distinctive backbone of exotic spices and white pepper. With a soft, excellent palate structure, this shiraz displays the quality and value synonymous with Bird in Hand. Cellar door open 7 days.
Nest Egg JOY Pinot Noir Cuvee - 92 points
An individual style, echoing the use of pinot noir grapes. It's turning bronze with age, and is big and mouth-filling, generously flavoured and sweetly rich in fruit, but at the same time enlivened by acidity. Not a subtle wine, but big and joyful.

WINESTATE Australia & New Zealand Buying Guide May/June 2006
Bird in Hand Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 - 4+1/2 stars
A big wine that is rich and powerful, with an almost party-like nose and a chocolaty, leathery palate that has a very firm tannic backbone. $30
Bird in Hand Shiraz 2004 - 4+1/2 stars
A very ripe and yet elegant wine. Has hints of raisins on the nose and a sweet balance of ripe fruit, spicy oak and tarry tannins on the palate. Lovely texture. Has potential. $30
Gourmet Traveller WINE April/May 2006
Bird in Hand Shiraz 2004 - 94 points
Shy mocha, dark-chocolate and vanilla aromas lead into a shiraz of greater density and richness than we might expect from the Hills. Medium to full-bodied, with a fleshy, textural palate. Berry and anise flavours chime in. Already drinks very well.
Nest Egg 'JOY'
Nest Egg is the name given to an elite group of Bird in Hand wines that reflect the finest estate-grown fruit from exceptional vintages. Bird in Hand Nest Egg Joy Sparkling Pino Noir is delicate salmon pink in colour and displays complex aromas of mushroom and yeast. It is best enjoyed with food.

Judy Ridgeway's Best Olive Oil Buys Around the World
Bird in Hand First Reserve Extra Virgin Olive Oil
'...Good intensity of spicy tomatoes and lemons, followed by more tomatoes and fresh herbs with bitter tones and plenty of well-balanced pepper. The latter fades to a lovely fruity finish. The Nugents simply suggest that you should use the oil liberally!...'
