In February 2018, Bird in Hand will be host to two epic concerts: Neil and Liam Finn on Friday 16th February, followed by the recent ARIA award smashing Gang of Youths on Saturday, 17th February. Music lovers can enjoy performances by the artists over a glass of Bird in Hand wine amongst the picturesque surroundings of the rolling Adelaide Hills.
Neil Finn is one of the world’s greatest song-writing treasures. Ever on the cusp of creative innovation, Finn’s musical genes run deep into the family line. His latest album was co-produced with his son Liam and recorded live in front of an online audience. Finn’s newest incarnation is a full musical collaboration with Liam.
“Liam and I have been dreaming up this record for the last two years. We have a wonderful band assembled to bring it to the stage and are casting the net wide to bring up some old treasures for the setlist,” comments Neil Finn.

Gang of Youths were without question the stand-out success story from the 2017 ARIA awards. Taking home three coveted awards on the night – ‘Album of the Year’, ‘Best Group’ and ‘Best Rock Album’ to add to their earlier win of ‘Producer of the Year’ alongside Adrian Breakspear, bringing their tally to four ARIA awards. With a stirring live performance from their current album, they were ‘crowned the kings of the Australian music industry’ according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
2017 has been an immense year for the five-piece from Sydney, with the release of their second album ‘Go Farther in Lightness’, a nod towards the optimism and kindness the band have found by surviving various ordeals. The holiness of love, the chaos and rapture of surviving against all odds, these are what drive Gang of Youths. With singer Dave Le’aupepe’s lyrics drawn from some of the most miserable life experiences available to humanity, and the band’s music taking cues from rock history’s most ambitious and theatrical preachers, Gang of Youths drag the beauty out of everything from hell to high heaven.
Back home in Australia following a European tour, and a move to London, Gang of Youths will be performing at Bird in Hand on Saturday 17th February, and are supported by Sydney’s Middle Kids.
